Symptoms or Error

URL redirection does not work correctly when IE(published-app) is running.
Even though "host to client redirection" policy is enabled, when we click URL link via published-app Outlook,??
the web page is opened via published-app IE, not via local browser.

- "host to client redirection" policy is set enabled,??
- URL redirection does not work fine if running a published app IE. Then, the web page is opened via the published-app IE, not local browser.
- URL redirection works fine if IE(published-app) is not running. Then, the web page is opened via local browser instead.
- As long as we try, this issue occurs only via Outlook(published-app).
- This issue does not occur via Excel(published-app) or??Word(published-app). To work fine, settings mentioned in CTX200203 are required.

Solution

We can bypass this behavior by renaming the following registry key like below.

Before ??: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\opennew\command\DelegateExecute
After ?? ?? : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\opennew\command\_DelegateExecute??
??

Problem Cause

In ProcMon, it showed that outlook query the registry HKCR\htmlfile\shell\opennew\command\DelegateExecute which linked to ieproxy.dll.
See the screen shot below. The issue looks like is caused by ieproxy.dll. There is a workaround to rename the registry key HKCR\htmlfile\shell\opennew\command\DelegateExecute.
But it would still be better for the customer to contact MS for the solution.
